Modalohr technology

The wagons are based on the Modalohr technology which has already been experienced since 2003 and has proved successful.

Operating seven days a week, even on Sundays and Bank Holidays when access to French motorways is strictly forbidden to trucks.

44 tons

Besides the cost and time saving compared to road transportation, the rail motonway link provides the possibility to load and carry 44 tons trailers.

Rail service operating 7 days a week

Services

Up to 27 roundtrips are running every week , thus enabling a first carry over from motorways
to rail. Up to 48 trailers can be loaded per train.

Rail service operating 7 days a week, even on Sundays and Bank Holidays when access to
French motorways is strictly forbidden to lorries.

44 tons trailers are allowed which enables a weight increase of 17% compared to maximum
authorized 40 tons

Lorry-Rail and the Modalohr technology

Technology

Wagons and terminals have been designed to load and transport standard trailers by rail. We
use the Modalohr technology. A train is made up of 24 Modalohr wagons, each one able to
carry 2 standard unaccompanied trailers (that is to say a capacity of 48 unit by train).
